There’s no doubt that plenty of us look at the likes (and legs) of Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner and wish we had their pins. But that’s usually as far as the fantasy goes, we have more important things to worry about than the size and shape of our thighs.
However, it turns out that some people are going to extreme measures in a bid to replicate the limbs they’re seeing on the runway. Experts have told the Hollywood Reporter that “thighlighting” is a growing trend plastic surgery.
These procedures involve a “full-leg makeover", which can involve a thigh lift, calf implant, inner and outer thigh contouring, liposuction and laser procedures.
Cost vary depending on the invasiveness of the work but can range up to $12,000.
Miami-based Dr. Rian Maercks told the publication that he’s noticed a surge in women requesting legs like Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez and Karlie Kloss.
“I think the widespread fitness crazes we have seen over the past years have drawn people’s attention toward the legs,” he said.
Sensibly, Doctor Constance Chen says surgery should only be considered as a last resort.
"It is best to start with diet and exercise," she told Health.
To each their own but no matter what your legs look like, what they can do makes them incredible just the way they were made.
