Take A Seat, Here's What You Need To Know About Vaginal Tightening

Take A Seat, Here's What You Need To Know About Vaginal Tightening

Here at Women's Health, we're not big on cosmetic surgery: we're all about loving the body you're in, and feeding it with all the best possible nutrients to stay healthy and strong. But we're also super understanding of those who need the help of cosmetic surgery to feel like the best version of themselves, and this treatment is a game-changer for those who need it. We're talking about Vaginal Tightening.

While a lot of ladies who opt for the surgery come from a purely cosmetic pathway, a huge portion of patients actually suffer from urinary incontinence (a lot of the time following child birth). The most basic way to explain urinary incontinence is the loss of bladder control, varying from a slight loss of urine after sneezing, coughing or laughing, to complete inability to control urination. If you know, you know.

Surprisingly, studies say that 50% of women experience urinary incontinence and 46% of those women say that the symptoms have negatively impacted their sexual function. Additionally, 1 in 4 female collegiate athletes who have not had children also have suffered from urinary incontinence.

Here, we spoke to registered Nurse, Isabella Bassett, from award-winning clinic Cosmetic Avenue, to break down the facts.

So why does urinary incontinence happen?

The most common reasons are changes in the body due to childbirth as well as hormonal fluctuations, lifestyle and ageing.

Aside from making the sufferer self-conscious, this issue can also decrease sexual function, lower sexual satisfaction and increase emotional distress.

So how do we fix it?

At Cosmetic Avenue, I use the Viveve System to help reverse these issues. This is one of the only systems that does not require an incision to be made, yet it is extremely effective.

It is non-invasive and most people will only need one treatment to get results. Not only has it been shown to help with tightening, incontinence/ leakage and improve sexual sensation, but it also helps to lubricate and has been shown to help with arousal too.

Using a non-surgical radio frequency, the Viveve Vaginal Tightening system to helps to rebuild the vaginal tissue and provides support to the uretha (bladder opening), decreasing urine leaks associated with stress urinary incontinence (SUI).

How does the treatment work?

This treatment is relevantly pain free but can feel a little strange. Essentially the machine has a small tip on the end of it that is inserted into the vaginal opening and is rotated while it cools the surface and heats the soft tissue beneath. The goal is to generate new collagen to help provide structure and strength to the vagina and decrease laxity.

The Vaginal Tightening treatment will take around 60-90 minutes and will help enhance your ability to experience arousal and an organism again The Leakage Treatment will take also around 60-90 minutes as they focus the radio frequency deeper into the vaginal canal to help support to uretha.
