Despite being the poster girl for teens everywhere in the ‘90s and early 2000s thanks to hit films like Bring It On and Little Women, Dunst has shied away from the spotlight in recent years and has been very private about her relationship with actor Jesse Plemons, 32. It wasn’t until last September that fans really got an insight into their romance, when Dunst and Plemons were interviewed by The New York Times and spoke further about their romance, namely about the fact that they only started dating a year and a half after their first meeting.
“I knew that she would be in my life for a long time,” said Plemons about his future fiancee. The couple bonded over their work on the TV show, Fargo, and their shared memories of growing up as a child star in Hollywood. “We laugh about the fact that we were two child actors,” Dunst said, before adding, “and we both made it out OK.”
The couple came to be engaged in January 2017 and later welcomed their first child, Ennis, in May 2018. Dunst had said in a previous interview that she had great concerns regarding fertility with her first pregnancy, saying: “I thought I would have a hard time getting pregnant, but it was a surprise.”
She added, “If I hadn’t met Jesse, I would have frozen my eggs. [But] it feels like I lucked out.”
Despite now being pregnant with her second child, Dunst is in no rush to tie the knot. She told the publication, “My mum was like, ‘But when are you guys getting married?’ And I said, ‘Mum, I’m not going to get married when I’m pregnant. I want to have fun and have a drink. I mean, we’re paying for this wedding. I’m paying for the bar! I want to enjoy it.”
