Since she first burst onto the scene back more than a decade ago, Jessica Mauboy has undergone a seriously impressive body transformation. Not only has the singer completely overhauled her diet and fitness routine, she’s also dropped two dress sizes (and looks bloody phenom, might we add.)
And in an age where celeb weight loss endorsements are a dime a dozen, it’s super refreshing to hear of advice that’s not only effective but super simple to sustain.
Enter, Jess’ go-to tip: Mindful eating.
Speaking with OK! Magazine, the 28-year-old explained that she thinks of her food as fuel and weighs up how each meal will affect her body and athletic performance. In short: “What’s going to spike it a little bit and what’s going to bring it crashing down.”
To start the day, Jess opts for a bowl of muesli post work out.
Lunch is usually a fresh salad with a lean protein. “My ideal kind of food would be a normal cabbage salad and chicken or fish,” she said.
And for dinner, a healthy stir-fry or curry is her chow of choice.
“I love cooking,” she admitted. “I love making a Penang curry. I do love Basmati rice and then just having a fish curry with potatoes and carrots.”
She also added that she’s partial to slipping up on her healthy habits, coz human.
“My cheekies are almond chocolate and salt and vinegar chips,” she confessed.
“I’ll go to the movies on Saturday night and take, like, a packet of chips and watch the movie and just be, like, snacking.”
