But we just learned exactly how much the 50-year-old’s estimated net worth is and… woah. She used to have a little now she has a lot. Here’s how J.Lo got so rich.
She first got her big break as a fly girl (aka troupe dancer) in Living Colour – a sketch-comedy series that was all the rage in the 90s. After that, she went on to work as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson.
Soon, J.Lo set her sights on movies, first landing a role as ‘Young Maria’ in My Family then a major part as Tejana singer Selena Quintanilla-Perez in Selena (a gig that earned her $1 million and a Golden Globe.) After that, Hollywood came knocking with big blockbusters like Anaconda, Out of Sight and The Wedding Planner. And she started to earn massive paychecks (we’re talking $9 million plus per role.)

In the meantime, she’d released a debut album that – thanks to bangers like "If You Had My Love" and "Waiting for Tonight" – went platinum within two weeks. She followed that up two years later with the album J.Lo, which hit No. 1 on the pop charts and cemented her status as the ultimate triple threat.
Next on the not-to-be-sneezed-at list, is her tour $$$. After initially raking in just $765,000 to support On the 6, Money Nation reports J.Lo went on to pocket $50 million for her Dance Again World Tour in 2012. Oh and she also had a three-year Las Vegas residency that made upwards of $100 million in ticket sales.
Then, there are her side hustles. J.Lo’s a fashion designer and has her own makeup line called Inglot. She’s also dabbled in reality-TV: she was a regular judge on American Idol (which earned her $20 million per season) AND a judge and executive producer on World of Dance. Ka-ching!
The latest check to land in her bank account? Her new movie Hustlers, which brought in $62 mill in its first 10 days. At least, that’s according to Forbes, who reckons the flick pulled in way more than anyone expected. Plus, J.Lo is a co-producer, meaning she’d be pulling in a HUGE portion of the box-office proceeds too.
So, totally tally? According to Celebrity Net Worth, J.Lo is currently worth $400 million as of 2019. We’ll just let that sink in.
