Why is it that women’s illnesses are so often invisible? How does oestrogen actually work? Will the pill compromise your fertility? The questions we all skirt around, answered. Hosts Cristen Conger and Caroline Ervin research the living hell out of a topic to host a rich and riveting romp through the science of saggy boobs, the global stigma of infertility and the future of STD testing. If you’re fed up with jaded commentaries, their enthusiasm and fascination will appeal.
6. The Dropout
US journalist Rebecca Jarvis leads this investigation into the case of Elizabeth Holmes. Once the darling of Silicon Valley, Holmes became the world’s youngest self-made billionaire in 2014 with her blood-testing start-up Theranos – until it all came crashing down. Get ready for a tale of fraud, cover-ups and criminal charges, as well as exclusive interviews and Holmes’ never-before-aired deposition testimony. Gripping stuff.
7. Crappy to Happy
After an energy boost, for your mind and motivation as well as your body? Join clinical psychologist Cass Dunn as she explores how to find just that. 8. Pursuing Health with Julie Foucher
One result of medical student Julie Foucher discovering CrossFit – quite apart from her formidable athleticism – was the birth of her podcast series. The athlete’s roster of medical professionals focuses on using fitness as a defence against (rather than a cure for) sickness and disease.
9. Seize the Yay

Allow yourself to be educated by Esther, the infinitely wise host and relationship therapist. Plus, her silky Belgian accent alone is enough to keep listeners coming back for more.
17. Deliciously Ella: The Podcast
The ultimate foodie slashie – healthy cook/ cookbook author/deli owner/entrepreneur – has a new title to add to her bulging CV since launching a podcast with her husband and co-host Matthew Mills. It’ll get you thinking (and freezing your leftovers).

What are the ethical implications of prenatal testing? Who decides how much funding should go into cystic fibrosis research? And what actually is the placebo effect?
