Sure we know that taking a bath feels relaxing, but turns out science has our back too: a new study, which looks at the physical and mental effects of bathing, has revealed that people who take regular baths showed significantly better general and mental health, and scored lower for stress, tension-anxiety, anger-hostility, and depression-dejection.
And it makes sense: the study went on to explain that bathing (rather than showering) exerts hyperthermic action that induces increases blood flow and metabolic waste elimination, which causes physical refreshment - improving both physical and emotional aspects of quality of life.
So now that we know how important it is to take the time to invest in self-care and carve out space for a soaking ritual to keep warm, practice mindfulness, and reap the surprising amount of health benefits, we though it would be fitting to add some bath salts to the mix, too!
