During the press tour for her new movie The Mountain Between Us, actor Kate Winslet revealed that she hasn’t stepped on the scales in over a decade.
The 41-year-old was discussing a scene in which her co-star, Idris Elba, drags her from a stream when she said: "It was very hard on him. I don't know how much I weigh. I haven't weighed myself in 12 years. Top tip."
It’s advice that many fitness experts now swear by, positing that kilograms don’t always give an accurate representation of a person’s overall health.
Kate has long been a champion for body positivity, recently making headlines for ensuring her L’Oreal contract banned airbrushing in her ads.
The mum-of-three has also previously spoken about growing up as the "fat kid" and how she works hard to ensure her daughter has a strong role model when it comes to body image and self esteem.
"As a child, I never heard one woman say to me, “I love my body”. Not my mother, my elder sister, my best friend. No one woman has ever said, “I am so proud of my body.” So I make sure to say it to Mia [her daughter], because a positive physical outlook has to start at an early age."
And if you need another to love her, watch her inspiring speech at London's WE Day UK charity event.
