In November, model Cara Delevingne made the announcement that she’d be joining sexual wellness and tech company, Lora DiCarlo as co-owner and creative adviser. In an interview with Vogue, she said: “Women have the same urges and needs as any other person yet we are ashamed to talk about how we take care of our own pleasure. I hope to break down the walls and barriers, and show that it’s a topic we can openly and confidently discuss.”
The pivot to sex toys for Delevingne was a no-brainer, and unlike some ventures by celebrities that have consumers raising their eyebrows, wondering just how exorbitant a paycheque must have been pocketed for a star face to be attributed to a brand, Delevingne’s foray into sex toys was understandable. In fact, we could only really think: “what took her so long?” The model has been outspoken about her sexuality since becoming a household name after walking nearly every catwalk under the sun. Paparazzi shots from 2019 even showcased the model and her former girlfriend Ashley Benson carrying a “sex bench” into their apartment.
All signs seem to suggest the sex toy is the new celebrity endorsement. Delevingne isn’t alone in her quest to highlight female pleasure, countless other celebs are joining the movement. And given that sex tales have experienced an uptick in sales since the pandemic hit, it’s quite the lucrative offering, too. You can now purchase sex toys from beauty retailers, with a number of products proving so luxurious, as Goop’s new vibrator claims, you won’t want to take it off your nightstand. With that in mind, here are all the celebrity-endorsed sex toys hitting the market.
