For the record, cellulite is NBD. Pretty much every woman on the planet has it somewhere on their body (unless you somehow managed to win the genetic lottery.) In fact, not even supermodel Tyra Banks is immune to the humble butt dimple.
Speaking with Miss Universe winner Catriona Gray for V Magazine, the 45-year-old opened up about the lengths she went to as a VS Angel to cover up her lumps and bumps.
“For years, when I did the Victoria’s Secret runway, I would get these long trains and other models would get jealous, but it was to cover my cellulite!” she said, prompting Catriona to weigh in with a nifty trick of her own.
“I've actually seen girls backstage spraying their body with hairspray,” she said. “Apparently it helps with jiggling.”
FYI, cellulite doesn’t discriminate based on size or weight but is actually determined by our genes and hormones, such as oestrogen. It occurs when collagen fibres that bind fat to the skin stretch and tear, allowing fat cells to expand. And while there are ways to reduce its appearance, there is no permanent cure. Which is why we should all take a leaf out of Tyra’s book and learn to love these wobbly bits.
“I am all about ‘flawsome’ which means your flaws are awesome,” Tyra added.
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
