While the 23-year-old has already worn the green and gold jersey for both Aus Tag and the Rugby 7s, she’s about to rep her country a third time around at the World Cup 9s event at Bankwest Stadium this weekend.
It’s a huge career milestone for Tiana, who describes her selection in the Jillaroos as “very humbling.”
“It’s pretty special. It doesn’t matter really which sport it is, to be able to pull on the green and gold in this code is a significant achievement,” she said in an interview with NSWRL.com.au.
“I feel really privileged to be able to play alongside these girls - especially this year. I think 2019 has been a really tough competition. To be considered in the same bracket as the girls that I’m playing with on the weekend is very humbling.”
After wrapping up a short season with the Dragons, Tiana is looking forward to the change.
“I haven’t trained for this kind of game for quite some time now, so it will definitely be a test for the legs and the lungs,” she says. “It is more up my alley – a little bit more room to move – so I am really looking forward to that. I can’t wait to get out there with the girls.”
