“No, I’m not six months’ pregnant. It’s just my food baby,” Brien wrote. “It is a delightful cocktail of lack of sleep, stress, hormones, and food intolerances. A mixture for a whole lotta bloat.”
Brien detailed how she personally struggles to manage all of these factors (her toughest hurdle: prioritizing solid sleep)—a topic many bloggers don't hit on in between the ab selfies and smoothie bowls they post on social media.
She also explained how even a wholesome diet won't necessarily prevent an inflated tummy. "This photo is a bad day, a day I cannot tell you exactly what I ate that made me blow up," she continued. "I have gone over everything I ate and I was relatively clean, so it could be something I think is 'healthy' that my body now thinks 'naaa, no likey.' Sometimes your body becomes intolerable to something you've always eaten; you just have to work it out."

While Brien offers a few suggestions for banishing bloat (like drinking peppermint tea and taking probiotics), we love that her message goes way beyond the physical.
