Protection From The Sun
Talk to any skin care professional and we’re going to tell you that protection from the sun is essential. Moisturiser that includes SPF will not only save your skin, it will save you time –you only have to apply one cream before heading outside, rather than two.
You want a cream that has high SPF – in Australia, this is best to be over SPF30, ideally SPF50. These creams not only protect from the sun, but also keep your skin moisturised and help to prevent lines. Most importantly, they can also help prevent skin cancers from developing.
Make sure you apply cream to your face, neck and cleavage area – and then put your makeup on over the top.
Get A Confidence Lift
Self-confidence plays a huge role in our summer physique and if you have dull or dry skin, it can leave you feeling a little deflated. Use a deep cleanser on your face to help remove any toxins, left over makeup, dirt and even damaged skin cells. The right cleanser will not dry your skin out and it won’t remove any of the natural oils that keep your skin feeling soft and firm.
Cleanser also helps to keep your pores clear and prevent skin conditions, including acne. Using cleanser daily helps to keep your skin looking, and feeling amazing, all summer long.
Treat Yourself & Rejuvenate
If you prefer something non-invasive, a face rejuvenation treatment will provide subtle results through a combination of cosmetic procedures, allowing you to feel fresh for summer. One of these is the Venus Viva, in which layers of your skin are heated and damaged – forcing the skin to heal itself again.
During this healing, collagen is produced, which naturally makes the skin smoother and tighter. If you want to reduce your blemishes, a glycolic acid peel treatment removes dead skin and other debris, while the injection of muscle relaxants into the skin can help to remove wrinkles for up to six months.
From The Inside, Out
Taking care of your skin isn’t just about the exterior. The old adage, “you are what you eat” comes into play here. If you want your skin to look the best it can be, naturally, you want to make sure you eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. Anything with Vitamin C will help to give your healthy, radiant skin, such as blueberries and strawberries; as will foods high in healthy fats, such as avocados, nuts and seeds. Drink plenty of water as well. You should ideally be drinking at least one litre of water per day for every 20 kg of body weight you have. So, if you weigh 60 kg, that’s 3 litres of water you should be drinking each day. If you get tired of water, try green tea instead – it helps to improve skin elasticity and protects your skin from sun damage.
Taking care of your skin isn’t just a summer chore, but this is certainly the time where you need to work the hardest. With the above tips, you can rest assured you’re doing the best you can to keep your skin looking young, clear and healthy.
