While there were some body shaming comments (naturally, this is the internet after all) there were plenty of fans applauding her candid attitude towards her scars.
“Thank you for being your true self and showing others that we are all beautiful despite our scars and chronic diseases,” one wrote.
The 27-year-old has been more open about her health struggles of late, recently sharing a picture of her painful, swollen face after complications with her condition.
In 2017, she responded to commentary that she'd lost weight revealing on Twitter that it had been a bad year for her health but didn’t want to share too many details.
"I haven't had the greatest year," she wrote. "Maybe one day I'll talk about it, but for now, I'd like my privacy. I will say that this year has brought a lot of change and with that, physical changes."
"No one's head should be bigger than their body but considering I've basically been on bed rest for the past few months, I've lost a lot of muscle mass. My circumstances have put me in a place where I'm not in control of what my body looks like."
Kidney dysplasia is a condition where the internal structures of one or both kidneys don’t develop normally, according to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. As part of he treatment Sarah underwent a kidney transplant in 2012.
