The gymnast whose legs were broken in a disastrous mid-routine accident has walked down the aisle.
Both of Samantha Cerio's legs snapped outwards only 20 seconds into a routine in April, ending her career on the mat. But weeks after undergoing major surgery, the 22-year-old American has walked down the aisle, unassisted, to wed her fiance.
Cerio shared a photo from her wedding on Instagram. In one, she can be seen tentatively walking, while in others, she sways in her first dance with her new husband.
Of the injury, she wrote on social media that "nothing ever goes as planned".
It may have ended her gymnastics career, but she still graduated from Auburn University with an aerospace engineering degree.
She's planning to take on a job as a structural design analysis engineer at Boeing, but not before her honeymoon in Hawaii.
