Prince Harry Says He And Meghan Markle Plan To Only Have ‘Two Children, Maximum’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their firstbornArchie Harrison, into the world in May, just one year after their royal wedding. But if you thought the couple were planning on having a big family, think again. While interviewing conservationist Jane Goodall for British Vogue, which the Duchess of Sussex guest-edited, the Duke of Sussex opened up about his and Meghan’s future plans, revealing Baby Archie will only have one sibling, maximum.

Speaking about climate change, Harry said, “What we need to remind everybody is: these are things that are happening now. We are already living in it. We are the frog in the water and it’s already been brought to the boil. Which is terrifying.”

“Happening and happened. It is terrifying. Especially as you’ve just had a baby,” Dr. Goodall replied.

“It does make it different,” Harry said. “I think, weirdly because of the people that I’ve met and the places I’ve been fortunate enough to go, I’ve always had a connection and a love for nature. I view it differently now, without question. But I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children…”

“Not too many!” Dr. Goodall cut in.

“Two, maximum!” Harry said. “But I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed. And, surely, as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.”

Earlier this month, Miley Cyrus opened up about not wanting to have children with husband Liam Hemsworth for the same reasons, saying the couple wouldn’t procreate unless huge changes were made environmentally. “We’ve been doing the same thing to the earth that we do to women. We just take and take and expect it to keep producing. And it’s exhausted,” she told ELLE USA. It can’t produce.”

“We’re getting handed a piece-of-shit planet, and I refuse to hand that down to my child. Until I feel like my kid would live on an earth with fish in the water, I’m not bringing in another person to deal with that…We don’t want to reproduce because we know that the earth can’t handle it.”
