She went on to say that it was “an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible.”
“This illness is serious and real,” she continued. “People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities.”
Pink also announced that she’s donating $US1 million to support healthcare professionals who are currently fighting on the front line. In honour of her mother Judy Moore (who worked there for nearly two decades), $500,000 will be going to the Philadelphia’s Temple University Hospital fund. The other half is set to be received by the City of Los Angeles Mayor's Emergency COVID-19 Crisis Fund.
“THANK YOU to all of our healthcare professionals and everyone in the world who are working so hard to protect our loved ones. You are our heroes,” she wrote, ending the post with an appeal to the public. “These next two weeks are crucial: please stay home. Please. Stay. Home.”
