With shapes and sizes so different (especially as our bodies are not always perfectly symmetrical) what works for one person usually won’t always for another, and what works for a yoga sesh one day might not work for marathon training the next. Amiright?!
But today we're here to prove that theory wrong (or at least try).
Having put plenty of sports bras through all sorts of sweat tests, today we're turning to Lorna Jane's most popular edition - the Compress & Compact Sports Bra - designed to support and lift your bust so you can "move with confidence in both your workouts and everyday life." This bra claims to comfortably fit a range of boob sizes (small, medium, large) and be able to support you in a number of activities (low, medium, high impact).
So to do exactly that, two members of the Women's Health team found their perfect size match (and favourite colour), and strapped themselves into a week-long road test, from heading into the office, to hitting the gym and surviving the kids.
Here's how it went

"The first thing that I loved when we had the opportunity to try the super-popular Compress & Compact Sports Bra were the colours. The range offer a cute collection of neutrals, as a great deep green. On top of that the fabric was super soft and it seriously felt like I was wearing nothing at all (albeit with great support).
Having a larger breast size (and being a mum of two), my days consist of walking, going to work, playing a bit of tennis, running between school drops and shopping - so having great support without making me look I have a mono-boob was a huge one for me.
The first thing that stood out when I got dressed was how nice and low the neckline sat - meaning I didn't have to worry about the bra popping out at work. It comes with the option of a back clasp, so when I was at work I would leave it undone (meaning the straps didn't sit too close to my neck) and when I got ready for some tennis, I simply clasped the straps together and got that extra boost of support.
On the court the bra did the job, it held my boobs in, and stopped them from bouncing me off the court. The moisture wicking fabric meant I couldn't feel any sweat and I wasn't itchy or uncomfortable at all."

"Nat and I couldn't be more different when it comes to bra size (and shape). For me, I still need the support, but there are a bunch of other things that are musts when it comes to a daily bra - or a sports bra.
I'm a new mum to a 10-month old so my tops, and more-importantly bras, are constantly being yanked and pulled as she learns to move around the room. After a few near-flashes I knew that my nice, lacy, bras were no longer practical on the daily as I needed more coverage, and a closer fit.
Yet when it came to sports bras, I would find they would either slip up over my boobs, or make me look completely flat chested. Not a vibe.
What I loved about this bra was the amount of cupping it has. While yes, it meant great support in the gym and on the go, it gave me great shape. I loved the longer straps and the ability to clip them together (I found I didn't need to do it but still admired the option). I wore it to boxing and it kept me in check, and I wore it throughout the day without a nip slip in sight.
But the biggest win for me is the bra clasp-style back. There is nothing I can't stand more than pulling a sports bra over my head, and then having to pull it off once I'm all sweaty. This one clips on and off just like a normal bra, and uses a super-soft polyester/elastane blend so it doesn't stick to your skin. A win for me."
