Nike Creates Range Of Shoes For Medical Workers

Medical professionals have some of the hardest working feet in the biz with research showing that on average, nurses walk around eight kilometres and sit for less than an hour during a 12-hour shift.

That’s why Nike has created the Nike Air Zoom Pulse collection – a range of shoes that suit the demands of working in a hospital environment. Nike describes the design as similar to a traditional clog but with an athletic twist, combining the comfort needed for long stretches standing and the versatility required for quick movement in emergency situations.

Key elements include:

  • A laceless design with an elastic strap around the heel, which makes the shoes super flexible and easy to get in and out of on the go.
  • An easy to clean protective coating to ward off spills
  • A durable, full-rubber outsole with a specific water-dispersive tread for plenty of grip

The shoes were tried and tested at the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon and will hopefully be stocked in Australian stores ASAP.
