August’s New Moon In Virgo Is Here, And It Might Inspire You To Make Big Changes
Ready or not, there’s a new moon in Virgo kicking off on Friday, August 30 and it’s here to jump-start your spring.
Backing up a sec: In astronomy-speak, a “new moon” means the moon is in line with the sun, and that makes it pretty much invisible from Earth. There are 12 new moons a year, each syncing up with a different zodiac sign.
This one’s happening in the sign of Virgo, and it’s going to help you get your sh*t together, according to certified astrologer Donna Page. But, of course, there’s a little more to it than that.
Here’s what else you can expect from the new moon in Virgo:
What does the new moon in Virgo mean for your sign?
New moons are a big time for setting intentions, and the Virgo new moon is all about putting things in order, Page explains. (Like, Marie Kondo just might be your new role model.)
Suddenly, you’ll start thinking about what you need to do to get your life organized and focus a little more on work. “If you’re not content with your work, it’s a very good time to figure out what will make you happier,” Page says.
Maybe you’ll realise that your current job is so not you and put some long-overdue QT into finding one that feels like a better fit. Ditto if you decide to switch career fields—you’ll start doing research to see what kind of qualifications you’ll need to make the move.
At the same time, you’ll be ready to crush it at the gym again and start eating healthier while you’re at it. Once you find a new flow in your daily routine (gym, shower, work, cook dinner, repeat), you’ll feel freakin’ amazing.
If you still feel a little stuck, try taking a walk outside. It sounds ridiculously simple, but Page says that being in nature and getting back to your roots can help you feel more grounded. And you do not want to be restless during this new moon.
The Virgo new moon will impact all zodiac signs, but Virgo, Pisces, Sagittarius, and Gemini will feel it the most, Page says.
How will the new moon in Virgo affect the rest of your month and year?
Rethinking your career is obviously a BFD, and that could lead to some massive changes for you going forward. Maybe you’ll realise you’re happy where you are and recommit yourself to your current gig. Or maybe you’ll decide your job just isn’t a great fit and think about going back to school. Whatever it is, you’ll be all about planning and, more importantly, doing.
Overall, Virgo energy will stir up some positive changes in your future. You’ll work toward being happier and stronger—in every sense of the word.
When is the next new moon, again?
The next new moon is in Libra, and it’s going down on September 28. During this time, you’ll be all about finding balance in your life, Page says.
So, spend some time getting your stuff together this month. You’ll probs need it down the road.
