In an emotional interview as part of the ITV News documentary, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, the 38-year-old speaks to presenter Tom Bradby about the state of her physical and mental health.
When asked by Bradby how she’s dealing with the relentless and intense scrutiny she “very clearly” feels, the new mum pauses for a moment before replying: "Look, any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging.”

"And then when you have a newborn – you know? And especially as a woman, it’s really – it’s a lot. So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mum or trying to be a newlywed, it’s…” she continues.
"Yeah, and also I thank you for asking, because not many people have asked if I’m okay. But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes."
Bradby then prompts: "And the answer is, it would be fair to say, not really okay? As in, it’s really been a struggle?" To which she simply replies: “Yes.”
Following the release of the video, many took to Twitter in support of the Duchess. It wasn’t long before the hashtag #WeLoveYouMeghan went viral.
