Your May 2019 Horoscope: Cut Yourself Some (Much-Needed) Slack
You’re ready to just kick back and enjoy spring after a busy April—and the universe is here to help this month.
The new moon on the 4th is all about relaxation. Think: barefoot picnics in the park with wine and chocolate. The full moon on the 18th only underscores that vibe, making you want to stop and smell the flowers as much as possible.
Toward the middle of the month, you’ll (again) be tempted to sit back and chill. Sure, you could go out with your friends—or you could be at home, reading a good book in the tub. Just make sure you maintain a good balance between the two.
Then, when the Sun moves into Gemini on the 21st, you’ll be ready to get out and do more again. So, definitely take the time to rest up while you can—life is only going to get busier at the end of the month.
Here’s what else is in store for you this month, according to Donna Page, a certified astrologer in Atlanta.
ARIES (MARCH 21–APRIL 19)
Do you have the money to do what you really want in life, Aries? The new moon on the 4th is in your second house of finances, making you question what else you can be doing to earn more cold, hard cash. Then, the full moon on the 18th makes you ready to learn a new skill (which, oh hey, could help you earn more $$$).
Mars moves into Cancer on the 15th, sparking the desire to put more effort and energy into your place. So, don’t be surprised if you find yourself cruising Wayfair for great deals… Luckily, Venus moves into Taurus on the 15th, helping you resist the urge to impulse buy. If you’re going to spend money around this time, it’s going to be sooo worth it.
TAURUS (APRIL 20–MAY 20)
You’re ready for a fresh start, Taurus, and the universe is here. for. it. The new moon on the 4th underscores how great new beginnings can be for you, even if it’s just taking a new class at your gym. Plus, the full moon on the 18th helps you break out of your usual a little more. You’ll be ready to push things in work, life, anywhere you’ve gotten into a routine that’s just not doing it for you anymore.
Around the 21st, you’ll start to think about your finances and where you can cut back. Did you really need to buy that cute pair of shoes you splurged on earlier in the month? Maybe yes, maybe no—only you know where it’s really worth putting your money.
GEMINI (MAY 21–JUNE 20)
You’re ready to get away and just ~chill~, Gemini, thanks to several planets moving through your solar house of retreat. That doesn’t mean you’ll get the R&R you’re craving, though. Mars and Venus are moving through your house of friendships, making friends a constant in your life. Just keep in mind that it’s perfectly okay to shut off your phone and kick back… sometimes.
The full moon on the 18th highlights your daily routine, work, and health. Is your day-to-day right for you, or is it time to let go of something to be the best version of yourself? Take some time to meditate this month—it’ll stir up some cool new ideas for you.
CANCER (JUNE 21–JULY 22)
You’re all about your friends this month, thanks to the new moon on the 4th in your house of friendship. You’ll meet some new and interesting people who will join your inner circle and love spending time with your old pals, too.
Venus is in your house of career for the first half of the month, prompting you to get ahead at work. When Mars moves into Cancer on the 15th, you’ll be super assertive in doing what you need to put yourself first. You want what you want, when you want it—and there’s nothing wrong with that. When the Sun moves into Gemini on the 21st, you’ll be ready to let go of past hang-ups and move forward. You don’t have time to stress over the past, anyway.
LEO (JULY 23–AUGUST 22)
You know you’re amazing, Leo, but does the world understand all that you have to offer? The new moon on the 4th is in your house of career and standing in life, making you wonder whether you’re **truly** being appreciated for who you are. You’ll double down on those feelings on the 18th, mulling over what you can do to get a little more recognition.
The Sun is in your house of friendships this month, meaning it’s a big time for socialising. Don’t hesitate to accept any and all invites that come your way—you’ll have a blast hanging out with your buddies, no matter what you do.
VIRGO (AUGUST 23–SEPTEMBER 22)
Things are just flowing for you, Virgo, and it’s all thanks to the new moon on the 4th. That stirs up a seriously nice energy that just makes life easy and fun for you. The full moon on the 18th makes you ready to get things done in life, so you can kick back and have fun later. After all, your laundry isn’t going to do itself while you’re out partying…
On the 15th, Mars moves into a sector of your chart about friendships, making it a great time to put energy and effort into connecting with others. Later, the Sun moves into your solar house of career on the 21st, making you ready to get more visibility at work. Don’t hesitate to speak up in meetings—you’ve got some great ideas to share.
LIBRA (SEPTEMBER 23–OCTOBER 22)
You’re all about your career this month, Libra. Mars, the planet of action, urges you to put more energy and effort into your job. You know what you want to do—but can you achieve it where you are right now, or is it time to look for a new gig?
When the Sun moves into Gemini on the 21st, it stirs up a lighter energy for you. Things are finally starting to flow, and you’ll be able to express yourself better than ever. Take time to connect with your friends around this time—you’ll be a better, happier person for it.
SCORPIO (OCTOBER 23–NOVEMBER 21)
You’re ready to make sh*t happen, Scorpio, and it’s all thanks to Venus being in a sector of your chart about everyday life, health, and work. You’ll finally be ready to get in shape, clean out your closet, and jumpstart that new work project you’ve been pushing off.
By the second half of the month, you’ll be inspired to take on a new hobby—you’re so ready to learn something new. Just don’t get overwhelmed by all the possibilities out there. Use your gut to go with something that just feels right for you, and then… go for it!
SAGITTARIUS (NOVEMBER 22–DECEMBER 21)
Time for a new routine, Sag? The universe certainly thinks so. The new moon on the 4th is in a sector of your chart about routine, urging to try something different. Maybe it’s time for a new exercise program, or to develop a new hobby. Plus, you’ll meet tons of new people by expanding your horizons.
The full moon on the 18th makes you ready to get away from everything, so start planning a trip, even if it’s just for the day. Then, when the Sun moves into Gemini on the 21st, it lights up an awareness of the people you really want to spend your time with. Make plans for some one-on-one time with them. You’ll be better for it.
CAPRICORN (DECEMBER 22–JANUARY 19)
Things are just happening for you, Capricorn. And it’s all thanks to the new moon on the 4th, which makes things ~flow~. Venus is in a sector of your chart about home, so expect to spend some serious time and energy on your place.
You’ll also do some major cleaning and splurge on cute stuff to make your home look like something straight out of HGTV (where’s Joanna Gaines when you need her, right?). Later, when Mars moves into Cancer on the 15th, it stirs up a fun energy for you. So, get out there and revel in it—you deserve it.
AQUARIUS (JANUARY 20–FEBRUARY 18)
You start out this month with the new moon in Taurus on 4th in your solar house of home and family. You’ll be all about meeting up with family—or people who feel like family—and just enjoying being around them.
Then, the full moon on the 18th makes you rethink your work-life balance. Do you have enough “me” time or is there room for improvement? When Mars shifts into a sector of your chart around daily routine, you’ll finally feel ready to start a new diet or exercise program. Just go with your gut when it comes to choosing the right one for you.
PISCES (FEBRUARY 19–MARCH 20)
The new moon on the 4th is in your house of communication, making it a great time to speak your mind. You’ll also find yourself reaching out to old friends you haven’t talked to in eons.
Next, the full moon on the 18th is all about travel for you. Where can you go to feel rejuvenated? Venus is in your second house of resources and money, making you think about the things you love to do—and how you might be able to make money from them. Maybe it’s finally time to open that Etsy shop you’ve been mulling over already…
