“A picture [on social media] tells a big story and generally those pictures can be zoomed in on, so people are zooming in on the tiniest details. They’re zooming in on your pores of your face, and they’re zooming in on your teeth and your ears and your hair, and it’s never been like that before. Once there was a picture on a magazine and you looked great, and they couldn’t zoom in on anything.”
Even despite the mounting pressure social media has placed on appearance, Stewart pays little mind to such unrealistic expectations and says instead that she doesn’t pay much attention to age at all, admitting that she has “a very strong constitution and I just don’t think about it.”
Even so, the TV star and mogul knows a thing or two about ageing gracefully. She credits her good skin and hair to her daily green juice, which she revealed in a recent view for Harper’s Bazaar detailing everything she eats in a day. The juice includes cucumber, parsley, mint, ginger, orange, celery and pineapple. “My green juice is really special to me. I think its the secret of good skin, it’s the secret of good, healthy hair,” said Stewart.
Stewart is also meticulous with her skincare regime. She admits that she never goes to sleep with her makeup on and also washes her face with baby oil and applies a face mask every morning. “I wake up really early because I have two dogs that have to go outside so I put a mask on. I use any kind of mask I have lying around…collagen, CBD,” said Stewart.
Stewart also makes sure she wears sunblock every single day and though she indulges in injectables twice a year, she doesn’t do too many treatments. “I love skincare, I love technology, lasers - I love all those things that will help you look better. It’s not about looking younger, it’s about looking better, and the better you look the younger you look.”
As for rumours suggesting Stewart has gotten a facelift, she’s quick to quash them. “People are always saying that I had a facelift, like, ‘Oh, Martha just had surgery.’ I have never had surgery.”
