On Tuesday, the 32-year-old singer shared a workout video specifically to shut down body shamers. And while it's not the first time she's touched on the topic (remember the Jillian Michael’s saga back in January?) her comments are guaranteed to have you fist-pumping.
"If you’re not a fat shamer... keep scrolling...” she captioned her post. “Ok now that all the fat shamers are here 🧚🏾♀️✨
In each clip, Lizzo performs a few different exercises – from cycling to skipping to lifting weights – while a voiceover plays simultaneously.
"Hey. So I've been working out consistently for the last 5 years, and it may come as a surprise for some of y'all, but I'm not working out to have your ideal body type,” she says. “I’m working out to have my ideal body type. And you know what type that is? None of your f*cking business. Because I am beautiful, I am strong, I do my job, and I stay on my job."
"So next time you want to come to somebody and judge them, whether they drink kale smoothies or eat McDonald’s or work out or not work out, how about you look at your own f*cking self and worry about your own g*ddamn body, because health is not just determined on what you look like on the outside," she notes. "Health is also what happens on the inside, and a lot of y’all need to do a f*cking cleanse for your insides."
She wrapped up the video with, "Namaste, have a great day.”
