Keira Knightley gets it. Speaking to The Telegraph, the actress – who gave birth to her second daughter Delilah 7 weeks ago – admitted she has to be fairly strict about adhering to a feeding schedule. Especially on the odd occasion she’s required on the red carpet.
“We’re going to be apart for six hours in total, so I pumped three feeds’ worth,” she told the publication. “If I don’t my boobs will explode.”
“I mean, quite literally. It’s going everywhere,” she continued, adding that she’s supposed to be taking six months maternity leave. “So, you know, that’s not happening. The pump is with me. It’s fine.”
Earlier this month, Keira shared she’d been suffering from a bad bout of ‘baby brain’ – losing her train of thought mid-way through an interview while promoting her new flick Official Secrets.
“You can tell I’ve got a six-week-old baby, can’t you?! I’m talking, but I’ve got no idea where I’m going,” she joked. “This is about the third time since I gave birth that my hair has been brushed – and I didn’t brush it. Lovely Luke, who is my hairdresser today, he brushed it. I was in my pyjamas when they got there and this is somebody else’s dress.”
The Pride & Prejudice star also admitted she’d been pumping breast milk just minutes before going on air. Still, she couldn’t help but watch the clock…juuuuust in case.
“I’ve gotta get back before 6.30 because that’s the feed,” she said. “It’s going to be fine; we’re going to make it. There’s a bit of extra milk – which I’d love not to use because it’s in the freezer and that can be tricky – but it is there.”
The joys of motherhood, eh?!
