In case J.Lo and A-Rod weren’t evidence enough that having workout buddy can get you serious gains, Katie Holmes and her 13-year-old daughter Suri will def do the job.

Via a recent interview with Shape Magazine, the actress opened up about her fitness regime, sharing that the duo often hit the gym together.

"Sometimes I work out with my daughter," Katie told the publication. "It just depends on the day. We have our routines, and occasionally they overlap. But I don't force her to work out with me because I know that's lame."

Btw, this is kinda a genius move: recent research out of Kansas State University found that people who exercised with a partner of similar fitness levels, increased the time and intensity of their sweat sesh by close to 200 per cent.

 "I like Spinning, boxing, and yoga, and sometimes I'll take a dance class," she continued, adding that she aims to workout four times per week. "I have my own Spin bike, so I can do it at home when I have to get up really early; otherwise I go to FlywheelSports. I got into boxing a couple of years ago, and now I take classes at Rumble. They play great music, and it's so fun. It targets your upper body, which is good because I can forget to do that."

Katie doesn’t just exercise for the physical benefits, though. She’s all about maintaining her mental wellbeing too.

“Working out gets me ready for what's ahead and releases whatever frustrations I might have. Afterward I'm like, 'OK, now I can focus on what's right in front of me,'” she explained.
