While Kaia’s bowl cut isn’t permanent, her take on the trend - as seen in a photoshoot in the October 2019 issue of Vogue - proves that this new iteration is so much cooler than the mum cuts we got as kids.
In the photo, Kaia is wearing a monochrome gown by 2019 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner, designer Christoper John Rogers, with an equally dramatic, super shiny and curled-under bowl cut. With an undercut! It’s so extra and we’re big fans.

Charlize’s take on the bowl cut, which was the real deal (no wigs involved!), was edgy in its own way. The 44-year-old actress went for a two-tone colour, with a burnt orange shade up top and a brunette hue underneath.
She’s even given us proof of how versatile the cut is by showing off a number of different hairstyles since she debuted her bold bowl cut in September.
