It’s reported that the couple is currently in the Dominican Republic, where J.Lo is working on her upcoming film, Shotgun Wedding. Sources claimed that they “never officially broke up,” but instead hardly saw each other, explaining: “She’s working in the Dominican Republic and he’s in Miami so it’s tough seeing each other especially with quarantining and COVID, but they want to try to stay together.”
The couple became engaged in the Bahamas in March 2019 after two years of dating. A wedding was expected last year, but they were instead forced to postpone their wedding date twice due to the pandemic, with the wedding said to be postponed indefinitely currently. “Alex flew to the Dominican Republic, and Jennifer was excited to see him in person,” a source told People. “They want to spend time in-person to figure out their life together.”
Whether the pic is as promising as it seems remains to be seen. Some suggest that the breakup is inevitable, but simply taking some time as their professional lives are as intermixed as their personal lives. Both have integrated their families, but the pair has multiple business ventures together and also co-own a number of properties.
“They’re tied in their business worlds so it’s not a cut-and-dry breakup,” says a source closed to J.Lo. “It’s taken a while for them to even think about untangling it all.”
“They invested a lot into their relationship. An official split would be devastating on so many levels.”
