Svitzing at the gym daily and meal prepping like a boss, but still left wondering if all the added effort is actually getting you anywhere? Yup, as annoying as it is, results aren’t always seen on the scales.
Which is where Sarah Duff comes in. The health and fitness coach over at @sarahdufflifestyleandfitness reckons there’s a super simple way to tell if you’re on the right track.
"The signs of a successful plan and [your] progress is so much more than just a number on a scale or the shrinking of body parts," she explained on Insta. "Your plan should be giving you overall life improvements both physically, mentally which should make your whole life better."
A good idea in theory, but one that’s not so easy to measure. Thankfully, Sarah’s got this covered too – in the form of a 9-step checklist.
According to Sarah, the signs to watch for are:
- You feel satisfied after eating
- You have increased strength and stamina
- You’re sleeping better
- You make better and more controlled food choices
- You feel energised
- You feel less anxious
- You view yourself differently
- You feel happier
- You haven’t let it completely take over your life
Sure, these might not be the drastic physical changes you’d usually use as a measure of success, but as Sarah points out, “they are a positive indication of progress and really fricken important.”
“These changes are things that make you a stronger person and when you feel stronger you can and will achieve more,” she added.
We couldn’t agree more.
