Watch her heartbreaking announcement below...
Hilaria said that she told Carmen, who is 6, the news and took the video that she shared so that she could send it to her husband Alec Baldwin. “I guess this is a good way to share it with you too,” she wrote. “I told her that this baby isn’t going to come after all...but we will try very hard to give her a little sister another time.”
Hilaria said that she’s “really devastated right now…I was not expecting this when I went to my scan today. I don’t know what else to say...I’m still in shock and don’t have this all quite clear.”
The video is heartbreaking. In it, Carmen tells Hilaria that she’s sorry for her loss and guesses how long it will be until they have another baby. “Thank you for saying you’re sorry,” Hilaria says, holding back tears. “Mummy is sad.” She then starts to break down as Carmen gives her a hug and kiss.
Hilaria later shared an update after her dilation and curettage procedure.
"Eyes swollen from crying, groggy from anesthesia, crampy from the surgery...but I made it and I want you to know that I’m physically ok. I’m grateful for my family, friends, doctors and nurses, and all of you who have held my hand through this difficult time. You have no idea how much this means to me. One foot in front of the other...now I begin the healing journey."
In April 2019, Hilaria shared with fans on Instagram that she was “most likely experiencing a miscarriage” and later confirmed that there was no sign of a heartbeat at her scan. In September, she shared that she and Alec were expecting again and, soon after, they revealed that the baby was a girl.
Hilaria and Alec are also parents to Rafael, 4, Leonardo, 3, and Romeo, 17 months.
