You heard that right. For those of us who love getting that next-level glow on our cheekbones and cupid’s bow, the ‘lobe strobe’, which involves highlighting your outer and inner ear, is that little bit extra we all need.
Apparently make-up artists have been down with this for ages, but now that more people are looking to get that optimal side-profile selfie on Instagram, make-up artist Andre Sarmiento says it makes sense that ear highlighter is having its day in the sun.
“I definitely think people are highlight obsessed these days and subtlety isn’t always the name of the game, so it feels like a natural extension for highlighter to be on the ear,” Sarmiento told Refinery29.
So, how do you do it? Well, just grab your fave highlighter and swipe it on the helix (the top part), the tragus (the part closest to your temple) and the lobe. And as is the rule with highlighter in general, the more the better.
And let’s be honest – there are weirder places people have been highlighting recently. So in comparison, we are so down with a bit of lobe glow.
