The snap sees the 53-year-old in a straw hat and a pair of sunglasses, as well as the burgundy two-piece, and is captioned 'a little bit of light.'
Needless to say, she looks hotter than the outback in the middle of January. But certain commenters decided to try and put down the mum-of-two, calling her too 'old' to be sharing snaps like this one.
‘I don’t think you are living in reality. Men do not foam at the mouth at 53-year old women,' one person commented.
‘Look at me look at me - time to let it go your ship has sailed,' wrote another.
However, Crawfords fans came to her defence, arguing that trolls are ‘just jealous’ and that ‘if you’ve got it, flaunt it’.
Natch, Cindy's famous pals came to her defence. Fellow model Helena Christensen posted 'And a lot of hotness,' while daughter Kaia Gerber, wrote: 'So beautiful.'
Other followers were also sharp to shut down the haysayers. ‘Haters will hate. You look beautiful & confident in your skin. Don’t understand women who tear other women down #notmysisters,' wrote one.
‘You look amazing. Don’t let the negativity upset you. A lot of people are jealous. Be proud of yourself,' commented another.
'You look marvellous. I don’t get the negativity towards your choice to post this picture. I live in Europe and so many women over 50 are in bikinis,' was another remark.
The nineties supermodel is no stranger to being trolled as she previously received the same hate after posting a black-and-white nude photograph on Instagram earlier this year.
So, what's up with all the negativity?
In an interview with Refinery29, Crawford gave her explanation as: ‘there is a lot of pressure on women to, well, not age’
‘Being a model and having your whole career being based on how you look, I am probably even more sensitive to it—but you can’t keep chasing this impossible thing.’
‘We want to show women who are 53, and I think Christy [Turlington] just turned 50, that there’s still beauty in that.'
