Research out of the Office For National Statistics shows that each day 1,800 babies are born on average. However, on the 26th of September this number spikes to 2,000. Likely (if you do the maths based on a full-term pregnancy) due to loads of people getting busy on Boxing Day.

The ONS, on the other hand, reckons it has more to do with parents wanting their offspring to be born before the start of the new school year, so they’ll be the eldest out of their age-group.
As for the least popular days to welcome a kid to the world? Feb 29 (coz, leap year) and April Fool’s.
