Stars from the worlds of fashion, music and cinema aren't strangers to taking a seat in the chair with your favourite names regularly showcasing their new additions on Instagram.

But no longer are they going for shoutout statements with dainty birthdates, handwritten love notes and family monikers gracing our feeds.
From Kaia Gerber to Miley Cyrus, these are the celebrity-approved minimal tattoos to add to your mood board.
Kaia Gerber is no stranger to going under the needle with a growing number of tattoos to her name. In fact, the fashion darling boasted an impressive number of teensy tattoos by the tender age of 17.
Kickstarting the tradition, the supermodel showcased a minimal inking on her inner arm which spells out her middle name, Jordan, in October, 2018.
The following month, artist to the stars, JonBoy, posted a photograph of the "I know" tattoo he inked on her wrist.
A red heart by Rafael Valdez, the number 23 and an angel, also by JonBoy, have since joined the collection.
Most recently, her and elder brother, Presley Gerber, booked in for a sibling ink date in New York with Evan Tattoo.
Sticking to her guns, Kaia opted for a further two minimal tattoos - a fine outline of a heart-shaped woman's torso and a bunch of blooms.
Another A-lister keen to ink memories, Selena Gomez recently debuted her latest tattoo on Instagram.
Promoting new album Rare, the songstress decided to get the title emblazoned on her neck.
In the ultimate A-list move, she booked a sitting at the world-famous Bang Bang studio in New York.
The ink comes just weeks after the singer finally teased another ink on her arm which bears the date that the 27-year-old underwent a kidney transplant in order to treat Lupus.
Fans were quick to spot the secret ink when Gomez shared behind-the-scenes snaps from her latest music video.
Gomez's friend Francia Raisa, who donated the kidney, also boasts the same tattoo.
"There aren't words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa," she said when she first revealed that she had undergone the procedure. "She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me."
Chrissy Teigen has used the fine art of ink to honour her family on several occasions.
Most notably, her and husband John Legend asked for scrawling tattoos of each other's names alongside their children's monikers.
A tiny heart on Teigen's finger completed the aesthetic.
The mother-of-two later went on to pay tribute to her family with a second tattoo by Los Angeles-based celebrity artist, Daniel Winter.
Sharing a sneak preview of the ink on Instagram, she wrote: "Cool mom back at it again with @winterstone!!!!"
The minimal design spelled out his mother, father, husband and children's birth dates - no excuse for skipping a birthday, huh?
Another A-lister who has popped into the Winterstone tattoo parlour is Demi Lovato who made sure she never forgets to put herself first with a finger tattoo which simply reads: "Me".
The dainty ink joins a collection of tattoos from the words "peace" and "rock n roll" on her fingers to a flock of 12 birds down one arm.
Miley Cyrus is undoubtedly one of the first celebrities who springs to mind when on the hunt for tattoo inspiration courtesy of her impressive (and ever-growing) collection of tatts.
But her most recent one was a far cry from her usual go-to taste courtesy of its fine line.
Yet another tattoo on Daniel Winter's resume, the songstress called up the artist for her latest "freedom" ink which took pride of place on her hand.
The move led fans to believe it was a subtle dig at former husband Liam Hemsworth.
Another minimal inking from the celebrity-approved artist also holds a special meaning for Cyrus with a handwritten note from Yoko Ono translated into ink.
"I'm proud of you," the tattoo reads.
Another star renowned for her penchant for tattoos is Cara Delevingne who boasts over 20 inkings in total.
The supermodel famously dipped her toe into the art form with a lion to represent her star sign, Leo.
The 27-year-old has since added everything from a snake on her hand by Dr Woo to stars on the inside of her ear.
The latter was inked by Brazilian tattoo artist, Daniel Tucci, during a trip to Rio de Janeiro.
According to reports, the ink represents the Southern Cross constellation which is also a symbol of Brazil.
Another model renowned for her love of tattoos is Bella Hadid who boasts a number of dainty inkings.
In the ultimate celebrity move, the 23-year-old paid a visit to JonBoy in January, 2017.
It was there that she asked for a teensy-weensy wing on each ankle.
Adding to her collection, Hadid returned six months later for a small floral symbol on the back of her arm.
Hailey Bieber is another member of the millennial model set who can't resist a tattoo (or three).
One of the most inked in the industry, Bieber is a regular client of JonBoy's.
Some tattoos are dedicated to her Christian faith with a cross on her neck while the word "Pray" (designed by Kendall Jenner) and a biblical reference are emblazoned on her hands.
Other tattoos are dedicated to friends and family. The model and cousin, Ireland Baldwin, both have their surname tattooed across one finger.
Meanwhile, a capital 'B' (by Dr Woo) sits on the top of her hand which could either be a tribute to husband Justin Bieber or a reference to her maiden name.
