In a recent post, the LA based behavioural health consultant reminded her fans of one of her biggest learnings along the way.
Arielle shared a series of before and after images in which she has gotten progressively leaner since starting her journey in 2016. In every single snap she’s 56 kilograms.
Yep, her weight hasn’t budged one bit.
“For anyone fretting over “holiday weight” this is your reminder to screw the f’ing scale!” she wrote.
“That number means nothing. What’s important is how you FEEL, if you’re being kind to your body (and mind), if you’re nourishing yourself with proper nutrients and letting your body sweat.”
“Scales can’t differentiate between muscle, fat, bones, tissue and water,” Arielle told People. “There are more accurate ways to measure body composition and that is ultimately what is important. I get messages everyday from women all over the world of all ages asking how to lose weight. It makes me sad to know how much value people give that number, and how much it can control somebody. I know because I’ve been there.”
She swears by the Kayla Itsines’ BBG Stronger on the SWEAT app and counts her macros during the week but on the weekend she’s flexible.
“It took me 2 years to get where I am today and I wouldn’t have it any other way!” she’s previously written.
“To really grow, in any area of our lives, we have to put in the work - and it’s so gratifying to EARN something, right?! I learned there is no quick (sustainable) fix, I’ve explored what works for my body, realised that mental growth is the most rewarding, and figured out how to push through complacency or stagnation. I’ve discovered self love and gained confidence.”
