Ingredients
1/2-cup organic rolled oats
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ green apple, grated
½ teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Squeeze of lemon juice
1 cup water/almond milk/coconut milk
2 heaped tablespoon Greek yoghurt/coconut yoghurt – optional
1 tablespoon glutamine powder – (optional for an extra gut repairing boost)
Method
-
Mix the oats and chia seeds together in a bowl, and allow it to soak for a couple of hours in ½ cup water.
-
Cook the oats and chia seeds mix in the remaining ½ cup milk/water in a pot on the stove until the oats become thicker in consistency (around 2-3 minutes).
-
Once cooked, keep the stove on a medium heat. Add in the rest of the ingredients and stir. Then add in the glutamine powder to the oats, stirring it well.
-
Pour the oats into your Thermos Food Jar, and you’re ready to go. Please note: If you prepare your oats the night before, I’d recommend leaving it in the jar or bowl in the fridge over night. Then in the morning, whilst you heat up the oats, all you need to do is pre-heat your Thermos Food Jar with hot water for 5-10 minutes to get the best heat retention throughout the morning. Pour the oats into your Food Jar and you’re ready to go!

Finally, you can top with crushed walnuts, cinnamon, grated apple and yoghurt for that ‘insta-worthy’ apple pie effect!
