Just when we though we were coming down from the heartwarming high that was the record-breaking ICC Women's T20 World Cup Final on International Women's Day, we read a Tweet like this and can hardly get a grip on ourselves.
WATCH the Australian Women's Cricket team celebrate their win in hilarious style...
In a post that's now clocked up over 8.5k likes, Annette Aitken-Drummond shared a moment she witnessed on the way back from the Melbourne Cricket Ground after Australia beat India on Sunday night. The game saw 86,174 people watching on from the stands – the highest attendance ever for a women's sporting event in Australia and just shy of the world record they were hoping to break.
A young girl near Annette asked her father if he'd enjoyed the game to which we responded enthusiastically. Then (and seriously, get some tissues NOW) she thanked him for letting her stay up late and said, "It's been the best day of my life."
As Annette added in a later Tweet, it's this kind of interaction that proves the undeniable worth of shining a light on women in sport.
"Slowly but surely, we're getting there," she wrote. "Women's sport will be unrecognisable in 10 years time. The future is bright."
Many agreed with the sentiment.
As Annette said, we can't wait to see what the future holds for these young girls.
