If you think you need to spend at least $20 on a decent wine, you're sorely mistaken, according to the recent International Wine Challenge.
The wine competition, dubbed the 'Oscars' of the wine world, has named an $8 rosé as one of the best wines in the world. The best part? You can pick it up from your local Aldi.
The Exquisite Collection Côtes De Provence 2016 rosé won a silver medal at the competition, and boasts tasting notes of "ripe summer stone fruits with generous acid palate and crisp bright finish."
Tony Baines, Joint Managing Director of Corporate Buying told The Telegraph that Aldi has been working with French winemakers to create a cheaper, good quality product.
"We have been working closely with renowned winemaker Jean Claude Mas to change perceptions around French wine, which is often perceived as expensive and intimidating, so it is fantastic to see some of these products acknowledged as some of the best in the world," he said.
We'll drink to that!
