If you struggle to find the right products and solutions for your lovely locks, here are three rules for embracing and caring for your tresses.
Enhance Those Curls
If you want to make the most of your gorgeous curls, an enhancer is designed to do just that. From subtle waves to coils, it will help to control frizz and hold your hair in place, while at the same time highlighting the definition of your curls. Curl enhancers are generally inclusive of shea butter, coconut oil or argan oil, which reduces dryness in your hair. They are temporary solutions, but they’re safe enough that they can be applied daily so you get the look you want every time you step out of the shower. Curl enhancers will leave your hair feeling and looking soft and silky, allowing you to style your hair as you please to embrace your curls and waves.
Tame Your Frizz
Whether you have full curls or waves, anti-frizz allows you to keep it tamed and looking sleek. Frizz is most common as a result of weak and damaged hair, but it can also be as simple as fly-aways, and if you have natural curls, you’ll be sure to have plenty of those. Anti-frizz helps to improve your hair’s smoothness; reduces tangles and knots, making it easier to comb; and adds shine, giving your hair a polished finish. For the best results, apply the anti-fizz to clean, damp hair, working from the ends up to the middle. Try to avoid adding it to the roots, or it could make your hair look oily, and be gentle – don’t pull it through your hair or you could create split ends. Once done, use a wide-toothed comb or run your fingers through your hair to get the knots out.
Time To Diffuse
A hair diffuser attaches to your blow dryer, dispersing the air so that frizz is reduced and the natural wave in your hair shines. It’s great to use if you want to give your hair more curl. Here’s how it works. Once you’ve washed your hair, dry it using a cotton t-shirt or microfibre towel. Then, before applying heat to your hair, use a thermal protectant. This will help protect your hair from damage from the heat. Once you’ve done that, lift some hair into the diffuser. Keep your dryer on low, and start at the ends of the hair, working your way towards the root. You can get more volume at the roots by flipping your head upside down. Diffuse your entire head until it’s about 80% dry, then let fresh air do the rest. Don’t touch it, or you could mess up the entire look!
Curly hair helps you to stand out in the crowd, is low maintenance and high volume. With the above tips, your hair will be full of life every day.
